　　International Circulation: In the era of big data， what unique challenges and opportunities in clinical or research work do you think we are faced with?

　　Patrick O’ Gara教授：大数据为我们带来了很好的机会。我们所面临的挑战是确保数据的准确性和真实性，这样在进行分析时便能确保这些数据能更好地反应临床实践情况。此外，大数据还有助于整合有关患者护理的零散信息，从而从心率、血压以及遗传情况等一些可能的信息中获取独特的见解。采用最新的信息学技术对信息进行处理，使我们能更快地根据对患者遗传因素、可影响疾病发病的环境影响因素及患者对不同治疗的反应制定最佳决策。

　　Dr Patrick O’ Gara: I think we have a terrific opportunity with respect to big data. Our challenges are to make sure that the data are accurate and truthful so that when we do our analyses， they are reflective of what is happening in practice. Big data will allow us to incorporate numerous pieces of information on all of the patients we care for in order for us to take advantage of the types of insights we can gain from everything ranging from heart rate and blood pressure to genetic make-up. With the manipulation of this kind of information using the latest in informatics science， we hope to be able to fast forward the ability to make the very best decisions for our patients based on an understanding of their genetic make-up， the environmental influences that can change the expression of disease and how they might respond to various therapies. This is a very good opportunity.
